Cobra, Robots, and Z.

I've been meaning to write a journal since Monday but...

Anyway...

The new Cobra picture is up which was a quicky done just to do something other than the Gurren Lagann picture which is taking me forever. Well, that and I've been feeling particularly nostalgic for the 80s and 80s sci-fi anime lately. I practically sat and watched a marathon of Dirty Pair last week, it got so bad! XD I really NEED the next DP novel but Barnes & Noble doesn't have it locally anymore...

Anyway, so somehow all that led to me wanting to draw a generic space scene that quickly became a Cobra fanart. Yeah. Also, I can't stop singing the Cobra theme either. XD

Artwork wise, other than Cobra, I haven't felt like doing much at all lately. Keep dragging my feet on Lagann, tried to start laying out the next page of Dyzenos, even drew half a new comic strip but... Nope. I'm just not feeling the artwork right now. :\ Oh, well... [SHRUGS]

On Monday, after cleaning half the day (and having to find, repair, and reassemble SEVERAL of my models and toys that certain cats decided to climb all over and knock down), I sunk the rest of my day into finally putting together that Lego Mindstorms set I got for Christmas. The introductory robot is all built and I downloaded its sample programs to memory but as ~StaciNadia had already gone to bed, I didn't bother to try it yet and I haven't had a chance to demo the programs yet. However, as I built the robot and looked at all the awesome things people have done with their sets on the Lego Website, I'm getting some clever ideas for my first robot, after I finish the stock bots that come with the set.

Other than that, I've been hitting the Mazinger translation pretty hard what with the new series almost here already. Progress has been steady but it's dawned on me recently that each volume of Mazinger is approximately 200 pages and appearantly, Mr. Nagai doesn't believe in chapter breaks. Indeed, the WHOLE thing is one solid block of story! Which begs the question, how do I handle the release? Do I wait until the WHOLE thing is done or try to chop it up into parts and update after a certain amount of pages or what? What do you guys think?

Meanwhile, new info has started to leak out about Shin Mazinger including screenshots and production artwork! The artwork confirms some interesting things... For starters the rumor that was going around a while ago about a new super attack that turns Mazinger into a giant fist was dead on! And heavily figures into the design of the new Jet Scrander! i.e., the Scrander is what transforms Mazinger for the attack. Also, the cop guy from the manga is in the show as is... Well... I guess it counts as a spoiler, technically, but technically speaking, if you're a Mazinger fan, hearing this name isn't going to come as any kind of shock at all to you... And that name is... ............................................
