~Kuo-Shinigami recently linked me to where I could download a trial version of OpenCanvas which she was swearing by. Now, I've heard of OC before but I thought it was just some online oekaki type thing where people drew together. Seems like it's its own art program. Anyway, THIS is my first experiment in OC. It was a lot of work and the fact that OC doesn't have many of the features I've become accustomed to on Photoshop made it very tough at times. And yet... It's pen tools allowed me to draw smooth lines like the professionals! Something I've never been able to do in Photoshop! Consequently, I might do another experiment later.

Anyway, here's Rydia! Can you tell I've been playing FF4DS to death lately? In anycase, this is MOSTLY based on the FMV CG model from the game. Mostly. The hair and head piece are out of the game's own character model. I tried to base it on the in game model... But... I ended up using an old CG I had which had Rydia stripped down to her cat suit... It helped but not that much. Then I kept looking at the grainy FMV shots in the official guide.. And at one point, I was even using ~metalfighterriku's own Rydia costume for reference. And then ~Caracal007 found me a CG shot of her fully dressed which helped more...And.. In the end. You have this. And the dragon comes from me summoning the stupid thing a couple times, pausing to get anatomical and color details. I hope I didn't kill my DS doing this though... XD
